ZP is the leading ISO13485 independent contract developer and manufacturer of Continuous Glucose Monitoring Technology (CGM).
WHAT IS CGM?
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is a way to measure glucose levels in real-time throughout the day and night. It is a type of diabetes management system that uses a small sensor inserted under the skin to measure glucose levels in the interstitial fluid (the fluid that surrounds cells) rather than in the blood.
The sensor in the CGM system is connected to a transmitter that sends the glucose readings wirelessly to a receiver or a smartphone app. The receiver or app displays the glucose readings in real-time and can alert the user when glucose levels are too high or too low. This can help people with diabetes make more informed decisions about their diet, exercise, and medication.
CGM systems can also provide a wealth of data over time, including glucose trends and patterns, which can help people with diabetes and their healthcare providers better understand how their body responds to different factors such as food, exercise, and medication. This can help optimize diabetes management and improve blood glucose control.
