Zimmer Peacock hosts a weekly webinar, dedicated to addressing technical biosensor inquiries. In this week’s session, we will delve into various aspects of biosensor applications with a focus on answering pertinent questions from our collaborators. The agenda encompasses diverse topics, ranging from wearable sensors tailored for construction workers to the nuanced realm of drug abuse detection. We will also explore water testing for calcium, potassium, and sodium in a business-to-business context, shedding light on the capabilities of our Ion Sensitive Electrodes. Attendees are encouraged to inquire about our sweat-based platforms and their potential use in both real construction scenarios and simulated laboratory environments. Additionally, discussions will revolve around the continuous data provision of our sensors, the feasibility of monitoring multiple biochemicals simultaneously, and the level of invasiveness associated with our technology. Our experts will address queries regarding the practicality of data collection throughout the day or an 8-hour period. Furthermore, participants will gain insights into the compatibility of all our biosensors with their proposed studies, especially those exploring opportunities provided by InnovateUK grants such as Accelerated KTP and Smart Grants. Specific attention will be given to the detection of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and the measurement of calcium, potassium, and sodium. Key topics include the current measurement methods employed, associated challenges, desired features for new ion sensors (e.g., long-term measurement, frequency of calibration, accuracy, form factor, and price), the ions requiring detection, industries where our sensors find application, and potential enhancements to our existing ion measuring concept.
